I live in Toronto. A friend and I went on a mini day trip on February 22, 2025 and stopped into The Blue Rooster in Ajax to try one of their big breakfasts. We were impressed by the huge portion sizes, the quality of the food and the prices. But what also made The Blue Rooster so memorable was the feeling inside. We noticed that people were having real conversations during their meals. No one was glued to a smartphone. The comfort food went hand in hand with the comfortable and cozy environment. We also noticed how kind-hearted the staff were. When I returned home, I reflected on our mini excursion and decided that when people ask me what I think of The Blue Rooster, I will call it The Home Of Humongous Portions and Big Hearts. My experience in this restaurant is always awesome. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and fun. Its nice to hear people singing while working and enjoying their place of employ. To all the folks who like to pick apart this restaurant need to stay home and complain to themselves cause it seems they just have too much time on their hands and hate their own lives. I love this place and have and will always come back to enjoy great food and amazing staff. I genuinely love you all!!! At the rooster!.
100% recommended We were 2 for breakfast and have enough left in our plates for LUNCH!!! Worth every cent value, taste, cozy bench seats, friendly staff! If you’re looking for a new breakfast spot in Durham, look no further. From the moment we walked in, the service was so warm and welcoming. A huge shoutout to our server Nikki—she was friendly, attentive, and made our entire experience great. The portions here are massive—definitely come hungry. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Now let’s talk about the coffee… WOW. They say it’s the best, and honestly, they’re not wrong. Bold, smooth, and seriously addictive. I’d come back just for another cup. Can’t wait to return!
First time eating at the Blue Rooster today - got French toast, the Wow omelette & the rooster Benedict! Good portion sizes & delicious food! Our server, Anna was super kind & attentive - coffee & water was filled constantly! Don’t hesitate - if you’re hungry & in the area - go there now :)
Our server was An. She was fabulous. Very attentive and friendly. Never hovering over us. Gave us time to look at the menu before approaching us. I never felt rushed. She made sure our cups were always filled. I said no onions for my sandwich and there was no onion on my sandwich but in my salad which she noticed and apologized for it. It was no problem. Then because she heard it was my birthday she came to the table with pancakes and fruit and candles and sang happy birthday. It was so sweet of her. Great restaurant, service and wonderful food. Food was plentiful. Doggie bag enough for later. Will definitely be returning. This was my first time at this restaurant.
Just discovered my next favorite breakfast place, Ana was amazing, giving us recommendations & checking in often. The place was clean and well maintained. The staff was efficient & checked in often to ask us if we needed more coffee or anything else. I had the veggie Skillet, it was really delicious, I'll definitely be going back.
Having delivered here for years in the food service industry, I never had a chance to stop in and eat. But today I did! Geeze! The amount of food you get for the price is amazing. I had the eggs Benedict and it came with 3 eggs on 3 English muffins! Not to mention the deep fried home fries!! Wow!! My friend had the bacon and sausage skillet and it looked incredible. We were both unable to finish all the food there was so much. The wait staff is amazing and attentive. Never an empty coffee cup!
